VIRTUAL CAMPUS

The SME Green Skills HUB Virtual Campus is an online multilingual digital platform providing educational activities and resources to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) through Vocational Education and Training (VET).

The Virtual Campus is aimed at upskilling Vocational Education and Training teachers, trainers, consultants and mentors to support managers and staff of European SMEs to transform their current way of doing business towards a more sustainable world.

The SME Green Skills HUB Virtual Campus is available in English, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish. It provides access to the following main pillars of the project:

• An Instructional Guide on Digital Competencies for Virtual Learning, designed to improve the digital skills of VET teachers, trainers, consultants and mentors, and facilitate their interaction with virtual learning environments. The guide can be downloaded as a PDF version for free.
• Training Modules, a structured set of innovative training contents and practical activities on supporting the implementation of the SDGs in SMEs through Vocational Education and Training. This can serve as a blue-print for setting up an ideal training programme. The full set is available as a free PDF download.
• A comprehensive set of Vocational Open Online Courses (VOOC). This covers learning materials designed to assist VET teachers, trainers, consultants and mentors to support the implementation of the SDGs in SMEs, developed on the basis of the European Framework of Competences. You can access the VOOC for free just by registering and logging in.
• A Gamification Handbook to implement the SDGs in SMEs is also available at the Campus. This practical guide provides insights, tips, examples and good practices on the advantages of applying gamification in VET to address global sustainability challenges.
• The Assessment App, which is an online evaluation tool that can be used by VET teachers, trainers, consultants and mentors to identify their level of competence and related training requirements to support the implementation of the SDGs in SMEs.

Why should you engage with the materials provided here?

The educational activities and resources included in this Virtual Campus provide a valuable range of information on how to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in SMEs through Vocational Education and Training. The training modules include activities that can be applied as such but also adapted to your needs when engaging in face-to-face sessions with SMEs staff. The VOOC are designed to help improve the knowledge and understanding of the different ways to transform SMEs towards sustainability, and how to engage them in this process.

What is the purpose of the Assessment App?
The Assessment App allows VET teachers, trainers, consultants and mentors to evaluate their current level of competence in supporting the implementation of the SDGs in SMEs. It will provide feedback and contain recommendations about training courses to attend to. It also contains a “Plan for Improvement” which provides a set of activities (and space to track your progress) in order to increase your knowledge, understanding and experience in the field of sustainability and entrepreneurship.
