The SDGs are designed to rally a wide range of organisations, and shape priorities and aspirations for sustainable development efforts around a common framework. The creativity, knowhow, technology and financial resources from all of society are necessary to achieve the SDGs in every context.
The SDGs recognize the key role that business can and must play in achieving them. In this regard, competitive SMEs are a vital partner which may significantly contribute in achieving the SGDs by means of the impacts generated on the following fields:
- employment generation and decent job conditions
- development of sustainable business practices
- contribution to relevant economy sectors
- contribution to national economy
The present course is aimed at helping VET teachers, trainers and mentors to support SMEs staff to identify how the different types of impacts generated by competitive SMEs may contribute to achieve the SDGs.
