The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call on companies and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) everywhere to advance sustainable development through the investments they make, the solutions they develop, and the business practices they adopt. In doing so, the SDGs encourage companies and SMEs to reduce their negative impacts while enhancing their positive contribution to the sustainable development agenda.
In this regard the first step for SMEs is to familiarize themselves with the SDGs and to understand the opportunities and responsibilities they represent to their business.
The present course is aimed at help VET teachers, trainers and mentors to support SMEs staff to acquire and overall understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals in business, including:
- Brief introduction to the SDGs
- Definition of the 17 SDGs
- Explanations about the role of SMEs in achieving the SDGs
